Are you an experienced Team Leader or Senior Support worker ready to step into a Deputy Manager role in a children's residential home?
Do you have a passion for supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours?
Our client is a leading provider of high-quality care and life-changing support to young people in its specialist residential homes across London and the South of England. They are now seeking a Deputy Manager to join their expanding team and help lead the home with compassion, integrity, and purpose.
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you'll support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the service. You'll play a key leadership role in delivering excellent care, promoting positive outcomes, and ensuring that the home remains fully compliant with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding legislation.
No two days are ever the same. The role is both challenging and highly rewarding. You'll be part of a dedicated and energetic team that shares a commitment to improving the lives of children and young people aged 818 with complex behavioural needs and learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of residential care staff
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people
- Ensure all care meets the standards set out by the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Ofsted, and local authorities
- Contribute to staff training, development, and rota management
- Support in completing care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
- Work a flexible rota including weekends, evenings, and on-call duties
- Support in audits, inspections, and quality assurance processes
- Lead by example in promoting safeguarding, independence and personalised care
- Assist the Registered Manager in the safe and effective running of the children's home
What Were Looking For:
We're looking for a committed and compassionate leader who shares our values and is driven to create positive, lasting change in young people's lives.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or senior role within a children's home
- Strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding, and relevant care legislation
- A Deputy Manager with excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Confident in managing a team and handling challenging situations
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager in a children's residential setting
- Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
