Key Qualifications and Mandatory Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working abroad (overseas)
- Proven track record of overseas employment. Must provide supporting documents, including:
- Certificate of Employment
- Employment Contract
- Letter from Employer
- Payslips
- Company ID
- Residence Permit, etc.
- Valid Police Clearance from country of work/residence for more than 5 years
- Very good verbal and written English communications skills
- Valid driver's license
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate tracked and wheeled excavators ranging from 5-ton compact units (for tight urban utility work) up to 30-ton production machines (for deep drainage cuts).
- Dig clean, accurate trenches to exact depth and grade specifications while managing changing soil conditions.
- Safely maneuver, place, and work alongside trench shields (shoring boxes) to guarantee a secure environment for ground crews.
- Use the excavator to safely lift, slew, and accurately place ("pull") heavy stormwater, wastewater, and PVC/concrete pipes down to the bedding layer.
- Work in tight synchronization with ground-based drainlayers and spotters via hand signals or two-way radio.
- Assist in the precision placement of bedding aggregates (scrim/gravel) utilizing specialized attachments or tilt-rotator hitches (e.g., Engcon).
- Operate Graders and excavators to prepare sub-grades, trim batters, and cut sub-base levels for roads, footpaths, and building pads.
- Execute controlled, layered backfilling around newly laid infrastructure to prevent pipe displacement or damage.
- Perform finish-grading and smooth-rolling preparation, ensuring zero rework is required prior to compaction testing.
