We are a venture-backed food-tech company with 12 employees based primarily in Switzerland.
planetary is powering the bioeconomy through building industrial scale infrastructure for
biomass and precision fermentation. Our Swiss facility for mycoprotein production is producing commercial volumes today. To support the commercialiazation of our mycoprotein business internationally, planetary is searching for an enthusiastic business development manager.
Job Description:
The Business Development Manager will have the opportunity to drive several projects, notably collaborating on the development of a commercial strategy for planetary's global B2B mycoprotein sales platform encompassing both retail and foodservice channels across meat and dairy applications.
This is a unique opportunity to impactful work in a growing startup by working closely with the
senior leadership team to help drive both planetarys growth and sustainability missions.
The Business Development Manager will contribute and co-lead the following tasks:
- Represent planetary at national and international conferences, trade fairs, and industry events to create awareness and develop upper funnel commercial leads
- Engage, consult and inspire leads and partners toward adoption of Mycoprotein in meat and dairy applications
- Manage the entire sales process, from prospecting to closing and after-sales support, including establishment and evolution of logistics processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in commercial execution, customer satisfaction, and business expansion and business process automation.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Hands-on personality, not scared of building from scratch
- A peoples person who builds trusted and lasting relationships
- Hunter and gatherers personality with a laser focus on deal closing
- An ownership mindset with regards to product and customers
- Interest and experience in the meat and dairy alternative protein industry
- Some direct sales/ business development experience in the food domain (meat/ non-meat/ dairy), preferably with experience in B2B ingredients sales.
- Ability to communicate in English, German and/ or French a strong plus
- Efficient and productive multitasking, yet keeping focus on the key strategic priorities
- Ability to travel across Switzerland and beyond
