Data Scientist

Responsibilities: 

• Extract, analyze, and manipulate large datasets using SQL to support various business units 

• Build end-to-end data structures and data models that serve as the foundation for future analytics and automated reporting 

• Design, train, and validate Machine Learning models from scratch including defining inputs, performing data cleaning, interpolation, feature engineering, and algorithm selection 

• Deploy Machine Learning outputs into real operating environments (e.g., pricing model implementation, forecasting engines, or workflow automation) 

• Design and maintain data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Excel 

• Support and manage data pipelines and workflows within the Azure ecosystem, including Data Factory, Synapse, and Data Studio 

• Monitor data quality metrics and implement process improvements based on insights 

• Ensure compliance with data governance standards and best practices 

• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and other business units to convert data outputs into actionable business recommendations 

• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide analytical solutions in a fast-paced environment 

Key Qualifications / Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with SQL and large-scale datasets
• Strong experience in building Machine Learning models end-to-end (including data structure design, cleaning, interpolation, feature engineering, experimentation, and validation)
• Demonstrated experience deploying ML models into real business environments (e.g., pricing algorithms, automated forecasting models, operational predictions)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and data engineering tools in Azure (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI, Power Automate)
• Solid understanding of Accounting/Finance concepts and financial data modelling
• Hands-on experience with ML tools (Python, R, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, or similar)
• Ability to work in a fully English-speaking environment with excellent communication skills
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
