We are seeking a highly experienced Field Instrumentation Engineer to support offshore oil & gas platform projects during FEED, Detail Design, and execution phases. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with field instrumentation and control valves, along with the ability to support site activities, vendor coordination, and installation/commissioning in offshore environments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide field engineering support for installation, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation systems on offshore platforms
  • Review and validate instrumentation design deliverables including datasheets, specifications, instrument index, and I/O lists
  • Perform site verification of field instrumentation such as transmitters, analyzers, gauges, and control valves
  • Ensure proper installation, calibration, and integration of instruments in accordance with project specifications and offshore standards
  • Support construction and commissioning teams in resolving site technical issues and discrepancies
  • Review P&IDs, hook-ups, loop diagrams, cable schedules, and instrument layouts against actual site conditions
  • Act as a liaison between engineering, construction teams, vendors, and clients for instrumentation-related matters
  • Supervise and witness installation, calibration, loop checking, and pre-commissioning/commissioning activities
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), ensuring compliance with project and offshore requirements
  • Monitor vendor and subcontractor activities on-site to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence
  • Identify field issues, design gaps, and constructability challenges, and recommend practical solutions
  • Support control valve installation, inspection, and functional testing including stroking and calibration
  • Ensure compliance with hazardous area requirements, intrinsic safety, and environmental conditions in offshore locations
  • Participate in site-based risk assessments, HAZOP/HAZID follow-ups, and toolbox talks
  • Prepare field reports, punch lists, redline markups, and as-built documentation
  • Ensure adherence to HSE policies, offshore safety standards, and permit-to-work systems

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or related engineering discipline
  • 10–15 years of experience in instrumentation engineering within oil & gas projects, with significant offshore field experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with field instrumentation and control valves (installation, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting)
  • Proven experience in site execution, commissioning, and offshore construction support
  • Familiarity with instrumentation design documents such as P&IDs, loop diagrams, hook-ups, and cable schedules
  • Experience working with EPC contractors, construction teams, and instrumentation vendors on-site
  • Good knowledge of international standards and offshore codes (IEC, ISA)
  • Strong understanding of hazardous area classification and intrinsic safety practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot field issues and provide practical engineering solutions under offshore constraints
  • Experience in FEED, Detail Design, and execution/commissioning phases is preferred
  • Strong coordination and communication skills with multi-disciplinary teams
