About the job PIPING STRESS ENGINEER

The Piping Engineer is responsible for understanding the Scope of Work (SOW) and carrying-out duties related to preparation and issue of engineering deliverables to Lead Engineer/Senior Engineer for project implementation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives allocated duties & studies Scope of Work.
  • Performs Piping design calculations and analysis.
  • Prepares Piping design reports, specifications and datasheets.
  • Check all drawings related to piping.
  • Verify drafting for compliance with other engineering documents.
  • Prepares the Material requisitions.
  • Undertakes technical evaluations.
  • Update documents according to the senior or lead engineers comment(s);
  • Reports on work progress.
  • Prepare materials take offs.
  • Attends technical & progress & design review meetings.
  • Raises the technical queries.
  • Compliance in accordance with HSE Standard.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of bachelors degree or higher qualification in an engineering discipline from a reputable college or university;
  • Minimum of 8 years proven work experience in petro-chemical/oil and gas industry;
  • Experience of engineering work in FEED/EPC projects.
  • Conversant with international Standards in piping engineering. Must have positive attitude, very dynamic, highly motivated and hardworking.
  • Must have good analytical skills, interpersonal skills and team-work skills.
  • Must have well-developed planning and organizing skills.
  • Must have excellent computer proficiency (MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, AutoCAD and other design/engineering software);
  • Knowledge of engineering software for stress analysis, 3D modelling etc.
  • Must have thorough understanding of specific Engineering discipline.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of interdisciplinary interfaces.
  • Must have knowledge of piping engineering softwares like CAESAR II, Smart plant, etc.
  • Must have positive attitude, very dynamic, highly motivated and hardworking.
  • Must be flexible and have ability to work under pressure to meet the demands of projects.
