LEAD PIPING ENGINEER
About the job LEAD PIPING ENGINEER
We are seeking an accomplished Lead Piping Engineer to head piping engineering activities for a large-scale gas processing facility project. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of piping design, engineering, and coordination across disciplines to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the preparation and review of piping engineering deliverables including layouts, isometrics, pipe stress analysis, and support designs
- Develop and review piping specifications, material selection, and valve selection documents
- Supervise and guide a team of piping designers and engineers
- Coordinate piping activities with process, structural, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines
- Ensure compliance with applicable piping codes (ASME B31.3, etc.) and client standards
- Review and approve vendor piping drawings and documentation
- Support 3D model reviews (MTO, clash detection) and ensure design integrity
- Prepare and track piping engineering progress and man-hour utilization
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
- Minimum 15-25 years of piping engineering experience in oil & gas projects; specialist-level candidates also considered
- Strong experience in large-scale gas processing facility design and execution
- Proficiency in pipe stress analysis software (CAESAR II or equivalent) and 3D modeling tools (PDMS, E3D, or equivalent)
- Thorough knowledge of piping codes and international standards (ASME, ANSI, API)
- Prior experience of ADNOC gas processing projects is a significant advantage
- Arabic-speaking candidates are preferred
- Proven team leadership and project coordination capabilities
