SOLAR ENGINEER
About the job SOLAR ENGINEER
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Solar Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, innovative, and experienced in the technical and practical aspects of solar power systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and engineer solar PV systems including rooftop, ground-mount, and hybrid systems.
- Conduct site assessments and energy yield simulations (using tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar).
- Create electrical single-line diagrams, layouts, and system specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Evaluate and select appropriate components (inverters, panels, batteries, etc.) based on technical and economic criteria.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes (NEC, IEC, etc.), and safety standards.
- Perform performance analysis, system testing, and troubleshooting post-installation.
- Support permitting processes and coordinate with utilities for grid interconnection.
- Provide technical support during commissioning and operation phases.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Masters degree is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in solar PV system design and engineering.
- Strong understanding of solar technologies, energy storage, and grid-tied/off-grid systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, SketchUp, and other solar design tools.
- Familiarity with local and international electrical standards and permitting processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively.
- Certification from NABCEP or similar organization.
- Experience with hybrid solar + storage systems.
- Working knowledge of SCADA and remote monitoring systems.
