As a Senior Piping Designer – Layout (SP3D), you will be responsible for leading piping layout design and 3D modelling activities for offshore and onshore oil & gas EPC projects. The role involves delivering high-quality design outputs, ensuring clash-free models, and coordinating across disciplines while guiding junior designers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage piping layout and routing studies for process, utility, and offshore systems
  • Develop and maintain detailed 3D piping models using SP3D (Smart Plant 3D) or PDMS
  • Review and approve piping layout drawings, general arrangements, and isometric drawings
  • Ensure clash-free design through coordination with structural, civil, instrumentation, and equipment disciplines
  • Interpret P&IDs and translate them into accurate and efficient 3D layouts
  • Generate material take-offs (MTOs) and support bulk material estimation and procurement activities
  • Participate in 3D model reviews, constructability reviews, and interdisciplinary design reviews
  • Support IFC (Issued for Construction) drawing preparation and ensure drawing quality and accuracy
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership to piping designers and draftsmen
  • Ensure all deliverables are completed within schedule and comply with project specifications and standards

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Drafting, or equivalent (preferred)
  • 13+ years of experience in piping layout design within offshore and onshore oil & gas EPC projects
  • Advanced proficiency in SP3D (Smart Plant 3D); PDMS/E3D experience is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards: ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8
  • Solid understanding of P&IDs, equipment layouts, and piping design practices
  • Proven experience in checking and reviewing piping design deliverables
  • Familiarity with material take-offs and bulk material coordination
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and interdisciplinary coordination skills
