As a Senior Piping Engineer – Material, you will be responsible for leading piping material engineering activities for large-scale offshore and onshore EPC projects. The role involves material specification development, procurement support, and ensuring the technical quality and compliance of all piping material deliverables.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage piping material engineering deliverables including specifications, requisitions, and technical evaluations
  • Develop and maintain piping material specifications, line classes, and valve datasheet packages
  • Prepare and review piping material requisitions (PRs) and technical bid evaluations (TBEs)
  • Ensure material selection aligns with process conditions, corrosion allowances, and applicable design codes
  • Coordinate with procurement and vendor management teams on material sourcing and procurement activities
  • Review vendor data packages and approve material test certificates (MTCs) and compliance documentation
  • Lead preparation of bulk material take-offs (MTOs) and support construction and site activities
  • Coordinate with piping layout, stress, and process disciplines for material interface and compatibility requirements
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior piping material engineers
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications, international standards, and quality requirements

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (master's preferred)
  • 13+ years of experience in piping material engineering within oil & gas EPC projects
  • Strong knowledge of piping material standards: ASME B16 series, ASTM, API 6D, API 600
  • In-depth understanding of material selection, corrosion protection, and specification development
  • Experience with procurement and material management tools such as Smart Materials or SAP
  • Proven experience in bulk material management and vendor coordination
  • Familiarity with offshore and onshore project environments
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-discipline coordination skills
