SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with specialized experience in gas turbine systems to join our engineering team in Dubai, supporting the design and detailed engineering of an onshore oil & gas project in the Middle East. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems design, particularly in projects involving gas turbines, power generation, and heavy electrical infrastructure.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and manage electrical engineering design activities for onshore oil & gas facilities, with a focus on gas turbine generator systems and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Perform Detailed Engineering tasks, including electrical load analysis, system design, equipment selection, and preparation of layouts and schematics.
• Execute power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, motor starting, and protection coordination.
• Develop and review technical specifications, data sheets, and requisitions for key electrical equipment such as gas turbines, generators, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and motors.
• Collaborate with OEM vendors and provide technical input during procurement and equipment selection phases, especially for gas turbine packages.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, API, etc.) and client-specific requirements.
• Interface with multi-discipline teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with process, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines.
• Provide technical support to procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct design reviews, technical evaluations, and provide recommendations for system optimization and reliability.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis related to electrical or turbine performance issues during commissioning or operations.
• Drive safety, reliability, maintainability, and cost-efficiency in all engineering deliverables.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (Masters is a plus).
• 10-15 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in the oil & gas industry, with significant involvement in gas turbine systems and onshore facilities.
• Proven expertise in Detailed Engineering and design of electrical systems for large-scale oil & gas projects.
• Proficiency with electrical engineering tools such as ETAP, SmartPlant Electrical, AutoCAD, and other relevant design software.
• Strong knowledge of power generation, distribution, and gas turbine electrical integration.
• Experience working with EPC contractors, engineering consultants, or oil & gas operators.
• Familiarity with international codes and client-specific specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong coordination ability across multidisciplinary teams.
