As a Senior Piping Engineer – Layout, you will be responsible for leading piping layout engineering activities for offshore and onshore oil & gas EPC projects. The role involves developing plant layout philosophy, ensuring efficient routing, and coordinating across disciplines to deliver safe, constructable, and code-compliant piping designs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage piping layout engineering deliverables including plot plans, equipment layouts, and routing studies
  • Develop plant layout philosophy and perform plot plan and equipment arrangement studies
  • Review and approve piping routing, layout drawings, and 3D models (SP3D/PDMS or equivalent)
  • Ensure piping layouts comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications
  • Optimize piping routing for safety, accessibility, operability, and maintainability
  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, structural, civil, and instrumentation disciplines for layout interfaces
  • Conduct layout reviews, model reviews, and site walkdowns to validate constructability and operability
  • Support preparation of piping design basis, layout specifications, and engineering procedures
  • Participate in HAZOP, 3D models reviews, and constructability assessments
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to piping engineers and designers
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and engineering best practices

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (master's preferred)
  • 13+ years of experience in piping engineering with strong focus on layout in oil & gas EPC projects
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling tools such as SP3D, PDMS, E3D, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards: ASME B31.3, API RP 14E, and related specifications
  • Experience in offshore topside and onshore process plant layout design
  • Proven ability in plot plan development, equipment arrangement, and routing optimization
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary coordination and model review processes
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills within multidisciplinary teams
