Job Summary:
The MS Exchange Support Specialist is responsible for the administration, support, and maintenance of Microsoft email services, primarily Exchange Online (Microsoft 365) and, where applicable, on-premises Microsoft Exchange environments. The role involves managing email flow, supporting user issues, ensuring email security, and maintaining uptime and performance of the organization's email infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and support Microsoft Exchange Online (Office 365) and/or Exchange Server.
Manage email-related tickets and provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated issues.
Handle user account creation, mailbox setup, permissions, distribution groups, and shared mailboxes.
Troubleshoot email delivery issues, spam filtering, and connectivity problems (Outlook, mobile devices, etc.).
Maintain and manage Exchange hybrid environments (if applicable).
Configure and manage Microsoft Defender for Office 365 (ATP), anti-phishing, and anti-spam policies.
Implement and monitor email policies and retention rules via Microsoft Purview (compliance center).
Manage DKIM, DMARC, SPF, and email routing configurations (DNS level).
Liaise with Microsoft support for complex issues or escalations.
Assist with migrations (e.g., on-prem to cloud, tenant-to-tenant).
Monitor email service health and maintain documentation of configurations and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience of at least 8 years within IT Support
Strong expertise with Microsoft Exchange Online and/or Microsoft Exchange Server.
Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 admin center, Exchange admin center (EAC), and PowerShell.
Knowledge of email security practices and protocols (SMTP, IMAP, TLS, etc.).
Experience with mobile device email configuration (ActiveSync, iOS/Android).
Familiarity with email archiving, eDiscovery, and compliance tools in Microsoft 365.
Understanding of DNS records related to email (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-203, MS-500, or Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate).
Experience with hybrid Exchange environments and migrations.
Experience working in an ITIL-based service desk or enterprise support environment.
Familiarity with third-party tools like Proofpoint, Mimecast, or Barracuda (optional).
