Key Responsibilities :
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers, ensuring high standards of technical execution and design quality.
- Supervise the production of design plans and profiles for small-scale projects, ensuring deliverables align with project goals and client expectations.
- Lead and contribute to the development and delivery of more complex design packages, drawing on deep technical expertise in surface water engineering.
- Review and critique design plans and profiles to ensure technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance with applicable standards and design objectives.
- Develop efficient workflows, templates, and tools to enable streamlined, repeatable design processes across project teams.
- Apply advanced engineering principles to support the development of complex analytical models, simulations, and system designs.
- Perform quality checks and reviews of design deliverables prepared by peers or junior staff, offering constructive feedback and recommendations.
- Establish baseline design schedules for small design teams and monitor task execution against planned milestones and deadlines.
- Track task progress and proactively address deviations from the original design schedule to maintain alignment with overall project timelines.
- Contribute as a productive and accountable team member, fostering a collaborative approach to meet demanding project deadlines.
- Act as the primary client interface for all matters related to the surface water engineering discipline, ensuring clear communication and responsive support.
- Mentor junior staff on technical topics and best practices, including the delivery of structured, on-site technical training as needed.
Key Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering is required; Masters degree or higher in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering is preferred.
- 15 years of relevant experience in surface water, stormwater, and drainage design, preferably within a consultancy or multi-disciplinary engineering environment.

Professional Engineering registration (e.g., PE, PEng, or CEng) will be an advantage.

Deep understanding of current engineering technologies and ability to select and apply appropriate tools
and software for project delivery. - Proven ability to mentor and train junior staff on engineering software applications, processes, and best practices.
- Skilled in solving complex engineering problems, applying advanced analytical techniques and design principles to develop efficient and cost-effective solutions.
- Strong familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations applicable to drainage and surface water design.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical and non-technical concepts to clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Proficient in advanced engineering software, such as StormCAD, InfoWorks ICM, Civil 3D, and other hydraulic/hydrologic modeling tools.

Able to serve as a technical mentor in the use of engineering software and design workflows.

Thorough understanding of QA/QC procedures and ability to guide teams through quality control processes
- Competent in non-standard detailing and able to prepare complex sketches and custom details for design drawings.
- Capable of drafting special provisions and technical specifications for specialty design elements with minimal oversight.
- Solid experience in the preparation and review of technical design reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
