About the job DRAINAGE BIM MODELER
Job summary:
We are looking for an experienced and technically proficient Drainage Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure drainage design and modeling. The candidate must demonstrate advanced-level expertise in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D, and be well-versed in working within ISO 19650-compliant BIM environments. The role involves the design, coordination, and documentation of stormwater, foul, and surface drainage systems using industry-standard BIM practices from LOD 100 to 300.
Key responsibilities:

Design and develop stormwater, foul sewer, and surface water drainage systems for infrastructure and land development projects

Produce high-quality drainage models and construction drawings using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and MicroStation at an advanced level

Implement and manage BIM processes in accordance with ISO 19650 standards

Prepare and manage design models to meet BIM LOD requirements (LOD 100 to 300) across all project stages

Conduct clash detection and resolve design conflicts in coordination with other disciplines

Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams and contribute to BIM coordination meetings

Review, validate, and maintain drainage models and datasets throughout the design lifecycle

Support the development of drainage reports, design calculations, and technical specifications

Ensure compliance with local codes, client specifications, and international design standards
Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in drainage engineering with a strong focus on digital delivery

Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D for drainage layout and profile design

In-depth knowledge of BIM methodologies and ISO 19650 standards

Experience in developing and managing models at BIM LOD 100, 200, and 300

Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulic calculations, and drainage system functionality

Familiar with BIM collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360, ProjectWise, or similar)

Ability to interpret and implement drainage-related standards and client BIM execution plans

Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline

Certification in BIM or relevant training aligned with ISO 19650

Experience with Navisworks or other coordination/clash detection tools

Exposure to major infrastructure projects (e.g., highways, airports, rail, urban developments)

Familiarity with sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and water-sensitive urban design principles
