Job Overview: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Signage and Wayfinding Designer to join our dynamic team for the public park project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 

As a Senior Designer, you will be responsible for leading the signage and wayfinding package design, overseeing design development, and collaborating closely with the BIM team to produce a comprehensive shop drawings package that complies with international standards and local Saudi regulations. This role is critical in ensuring that park visitors have a seamless and user-friendly experience while navigating the expansive park grounds.

This Designer will be at the forefront of utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies to develop and coordinate the Wayfinding and signage aspects of the project, in addition to performing calculations, design gap analysis, and design development.

Key Requirements:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Graphic Design, or a related field with a strong emphasis on signage and wayfinding design.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in signage and wayfinding design, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
  • Design Proficiency: Exceptional design skills, with a portfolio showcasing a range of signage and wayfinding projects, demonstrating creativity, functionality, and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), AutoCAD, and other relevant graphic design and CAD & BIM tools.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of Standards: In-depth knowledge of international signage and wayfinding standards, as well as familiarity with local Saudi regulations related to signage and accessibility.
  • BIM Collaboration: Experience working with BIM teams to integrate signage and wayfinding design into the overall BIM workflow and shop drawings generation.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to ensuring that signage and wayfinding elements are accurate and error-free.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Signage and Wayfinding Package Design: Lead the conceptual design and development of signage and wayfinding elements within the park, considering aesthetics, functionality, and accessibility.
  • Design Development: Collaborate with the project team to refine and develop the signage and wayfinding concepts, ensuring alignment with the overall park design and theme.
  • Shop Drawings Production: Work closely with the BIM team to integrate signage and wayfinding elements into the BIM workflow, producing detailed shop drawings that meet international standards and local regulations.
  • Materials and Fabrication Specifications: Specify materials, finishes, and fabrication methods for signage and wayfinding elements, considering durability and maintenance requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks on design and shop drawings to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency with project standards.
  • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and fabricators to ensure the accurate production and installation of signage and wayfinding elements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all signage and wayfinding designs and shop drawings comply with local Saudi regulations related to accessibility and signage.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with architects, landscape designers, engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of signage and wayfinding elements into the park's infrastructure.

The successful candidate for the role of Senior Signage and Wayfinding Designer should possess the following qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in signage and wayfinding design, with a strong portfolio showcasing past projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey design concepts and ideas effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with the latest design trends and technologies in the field of signage and wayfinding.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • Proficiency in both English and Arabic is preferred.
