SURFACE WATER ENGINEER

Key Responsibilities :

• Support the design and analysis of stormwater drainage systems, culverts, detention systems, and green infrastructure.
• Prepare design drawings, profiles, and reports under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using software such as StormCAD, InfoWorks, and Civil 3D.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, calculations, and supporting documents for permitting and construction.
• Ensure design compliance with local, regional, and national codes and regulations.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including civil and environmental engineers, planners, and CAD technicians.
• Participate in site visits, field investigations, and coordination with construction teams as required.
• Support the implementation of QA/QC processes for deliverables.
• Contribute to meeting project deadlines and maintaining high-quality technical standards.

Key Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (required)
• 5+ years of relevant experience in surface water and drainage design
• Progress toward professional licensure (e.g., PE, PEng, or CEng) is preferred
• Proficient in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools such as StormCAD, InfoWorks ICM, and Civil 3D
• Familiarity with applicable design standards and regulations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a project team
• Willingness to learn and grow within a supportive engineering environment
