ELECTRICAL BIM MODELER

Job summary:

We are looking for an experienced CAD Engineer Electrical with a strong background in the design and drafting of street lighting and traffic signal systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience and be proficient in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D. This role requires a thorough understanding of roadway electrical systems and the ability to prepare high-quality, accurate engineering drawings that comply with relevant standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare electrical layout drawings for street lighting, traffic signals, and associated infrastructure

• Develop detailed plans using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D based on engineering inputs

• Coordinate with electrical engineers, civil designers, and other project stakeholders

• Create wiring diagrams, conduit routing, pole layouts, and electrical schematics

• Ensure all drawings meet client and jurisdictional standards and specifications

• Perform revisions and updates to plans based on design changes or review comments

• Assist with quantity take-offs and support documentation for bids or construction

• Participate in field visits and site assessments as needed to support design accuracy

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical CAD design, with a focus on street lighting and traffic signals

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D

• Strong understanding of electrical design standards related to roadway infrastructure

• Ability to interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and redlines

• Experience working with DOT or municipal standards (preferred)

• Strong attention to detail and quality control

• Excellent organizational and communication skills
