PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team for an exciting airport project. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing specialized expertise in soil mechanics, foundation design, and earthworks to ensure the safe and efficient development of airport infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including civil engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver high-quality geotechnical solutions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct comprehensive site investigations and geotechnical assessments to evaluate soil properties, groundwater conditions, and geological hazards.
  2. Perform geotechnical analysis and design for various airport facilities including runways, taxiways, aprons, terminals, and retaining structures.
  3. Develop foundation designs for structures considering factors such as loadings, settlement criteria, and soil-structure interaction.
  4. Provide recommendations for earthworks, slope stability, and soil improvement techniques to optimize construction efficiency and minimize risks.
  5. Collaborate with construction teams to implement geotechnical monitoring programs and ensure compliance with design specifications during construction activities.
  6. Review and interpret geotechnical data from laboratory tests, field measurements, and monitoring systems to assess project performance and address any deviations from design assumptions.
  7. Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications documenting geotechnical findings, design solutions, and recommendations for stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
  8. Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and best practices related to geotechnical engineering, and incorporate new technologies and methodologies into project workflows.
  9. Support project managers in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management activities related to geotechnical aspects.
  10. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to ensure the successful execution of geotechnical tasks and deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Proven track record of managing geotechnical aspects of large-scale projects from conceptual design through construction completion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
