PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Engineer with a strong background in construction and civil engineering to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the procurement process for construction projects, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services and Packages experience. This role requires a deep understanding of construction practices, civil engineering specifications, and strong negotiation skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Strategic Procurement:

    • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project requirements and organizational objectives.
    • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand construction and civil engineering specifications, ensuring procurement plans meet technical and quality standards.
  2. Supplier Management:

    • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
  3. Contract Negotiation:

    • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
  4. Cost Analysis and Budgeting:

    • Conduct thorough cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
    • Collaborate with project teams to develop and manage procurement budgets, monitoring expenses against approved budgets.
  5. Risk Management:

    • Identify potential risks and stay abreast of market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes to proactively manage procurement risks.
  6. Quality Assurance:

    • Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that procured materials and services meet required standards and specifications
  7. Documentation and Reporting:

KEY QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience of 8 years and above as a Procurement Engineer in the construction industry, with a focus on civil engineering projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Packages experience and supplier information
  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials, specifications, and procurement processes.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
