The Senior Civil Engineer (Field Engineering Office) is responsible for providing technical oversight and leadership for all civil engineering activities at the ADNOC project site. Acting as the primary interface between the site construction team and the home office design team, the role ensures that civil works are executed in compliance with approved IFC drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards. This position requires close coordination with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to resolve field issues, manage RFIs, and ensure timely construction support.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and coordinate all civil and structural engineering activities at the Field Engineering Office.
- Review IFC drawings and specifications; provide clarification to construction teams.
- Address and resolve site queries (SQs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Field Change Requests (FCRs).
- Liaise with home office design teams for technical support and design clarifications.
- Ensure civil works comply with project drawings, international codes (e.g., ACI, ASTM, BS), and client specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and support quality control activities with QA/QC teams.
- Monitor construction progress and support the resolution of technical issues affecting schedule or safety.
- Participate in constructability reviews and provide value engineering recommendations where appropriate.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, structural, etc.) to resolve interface issues.
- Support handover activities, including as-built documentation and punch list closeout.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Masters is a plus).
- Minimum 15 years of experience in civil engineering with at least 5 years in a field engineering or site-based role.
- ADNOC Approved (preferred), minimum 2 years of experience with ADNOC
- Proven experience in major oil & gas, infrastructure, or industrial projects (EPC or PMC).
- Strong knowledge of civil works including earthworks, foundations, roads, drainage, and structural concrete.
- Familiar with international codes and standards (ACI, ASTM, BS, ISO).
- Proficient in engineering software tools (AutoCAD, STAAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, etc.).
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Fluent in English; other language skills may be an advantage.
