Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and oversight in the design of surface water and stormwater systems, ensuring high standards of accuracy and constructability.
- Supervise and coordinate the production of design plans, profiles, and technical documentation for small to mid-scale infrastructure projects.
- Lead the preparation of complex drainage and surface water designs, applying advanced engineering principles and industry best practices.
- Review and critique design deliverables, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, design standards, and project objectives.
- Develop and implement design templates, workflows, and modeling strategies to improve project efficiency and consistency.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and designers on software applications (e.g., StormCAD, InfoWorks ICM, Civil 3D) and technical procedures.
- Apply analytical models and simulation tools to evaluate hydrologic and hydraulic systems under a variety of conditions.
- Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed throughout the project lifecycle and participate in quality reviews
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction documents that communicate engineering findings and design intent.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients on technical matters, participating in meetings and ensuring client expectations are met.
Key Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (Masters degree in Water Resources, Environmental, or related field preferred).
- 10+ years of relevant experience in surface water, stormwater, and drainage design.
- Professional Engineer (PE, PEng, or CEng) license is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools, including: StormCAD, Infoworks ICM, Civil 3D and other related softwares
- Strong knowledge of local and international design codes, practices, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to mentor junior staff, lead small design teams, and contribute to knowledge sharing across disciplines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of design reporting, with ability to produce well-structured, technically sound documentation.
