Senior Architectural Engineer to manage and coordinate all architectural elements on-site, ensuring the design intent is faithfully executed and aligned with construction feasibility, quality, and safety standards. This role is essential for translating design documents into built reality, balancing aesthetics, functionality, and constructability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review architectural drawings, details, and specifications for constructability and coordination with other disciplines (structural, MEP, etc.).
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and client representatives to resolve design issues and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to site teams regarding architectural finishes, materials, and installation methods.
- Approve and review shop drawings, material submittals, mock-ups, and method statements related to architectural works.
- Oversee the execution of architectural finishes and ensure quality standards are met (interior and exterior finishes, facades, cladding, ceilings, partitions, etc.).
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers involved in architectural and finishing works.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure alignment with approved designs and specifications.
- Identify and address site-level issues or clashes between architectural and other systems (MEP/structural).
- Ensure all architectural works comply with local codes, safety regulations, and project timelines
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers, site inspectors, and supervisors.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering (Masters preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in architectural engineering or site architectural roles, ideally within a contractor or construction company.
- Proven experience overseeing large-scale projects (commercial, residential, mixed-use, hospitality, healthcare, etc.).
- Strong understanding of architectural finishes, material performance, and installation techniques.
- Familiarity with local codes, regulations, and international standards.
- Proficiency in architectural software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools) and ability to read complex drawings and details.
- Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in design-build or EPC projects.
- BIM workflow familiarity and clash detection capabilities.
- Knowledge of sustainable/green building standards (LEED, IGBC, etc.).
- Strong quality management and safety awareness.
