We are seeking an experienced Technical Principal with a solid background in Civil Engineering and at least 18 years of relevant airfield design experience. This role focuses on airfield geometric design, pavement design, and coordination of utilities within multidisciplinary teams. Strong command of international and local aerodrome standards (ICAO, FAA, GACAR) and proficiency in design software such as AviPLAN, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the primary point of contact for all technical facets of project delivery
Identify potential technical challenges and devise proactive solutions
Lead technical meetings, workshops, and interface with internal/external design teams
Ensure projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability
Conduct regular technical audits and risk assessments
Prepare progress reports and presentations for clients and senior management
Develop internal technical capabilities through structured performance management

Airfield Geometric Design

  • Lead runway, taxiway, and apron layouts, ensuring compliance with ICAO, FAA, GACAR standards

  • Optimize configurations for efficiency and safety

  • Prepare detailed design drawings, technical specifications, and construction documentation

Pavement Design

  • Analyze existing pavement conditions, recommend rehabilitation strategies, and forecast performance under varying aircraft traffic
  • Lead comprehensive airfield pavement designs using FAARFIELD, including load analyses, material selection, structural evaluations

Utilities Coordination

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, environmental)

  • Oversee integration of utilities into airfield design and ensure compliance with project specifications

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure all designs and practices comply with ICAO, FAA, and local GACAR standards

  • Conduct quality control reviews and ensure complete, accurate documentation

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Aeronautical/Civil Engineering (Masters in Airport Planning/Transportation highly desirable)
  • Minimum 18 years experience in airfield infrastructure design, geometric design, utilities, OLS surface studies

  • In-depth knowledge of ICAO, FAA, GACAR standards

  • Proficiency in AviPLAN, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, FAARFIELD, COMFAA

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with DTMs, GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS), and BIM environments

  • Excellent verbal/written communication, team leadership, organizational skills
