POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for supporting the BIM production and coordination of a project. The primary focus is on ensuring that production and coordinating BIM models, data, and information across various disciplines are implemented within the required project requirements. Working closely with project teams to ensure effective collaboration and adherence to BIM standards and protocols.

Proficiency in BIM software and attention to detail will enable you to perform clash detection and resolution, as well as contribute to the adherence to BIM standards and protocols. As BIM coordinator you will also be required to have experience in the preparation of BIM files, model collaboration and help contribute to BIM Execution Plans.

The ideal candidate should have possessed experience in BIM coordination and have proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, or Bentley BIM. Strong organizational and communication skills are important, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with project teams. The ideal BIM Coordinator candidate should be detail-oriented, have a problem-solving mindset, and be able to adapt to changing project requirements. Familiarity with BIM standards and construction industry practices is beneficial for this role.

The role is applicable for all disciplines (Architecture, Structure, MEP, and Civil)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

BIM Modeling:

  • Lead the development of detailed and complex 3D BIM models using advanced software, such as Revit.
  • Coordinate and integrate BIM models from various disciplines to ensure clash-free and coordinated designs.
  • Perform in-depth clash detection analysis and coordinate clashes with project teams.
  • Resolve conflicts and coordinate design changes within the BIM models.

Clash Detection and Coordination:

  • Assist in resolving clashes by coordinating with other disciplines and making necessary adjustments to the BIM models.
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve clashes and coordinate design elements.
  • Participate in regular coordination meetings and interdisciplinary workshops to address clashes and conflicts.

Drawing Generation and Documentation:

  • Generate high-quality 2D drawings, schedules, and documentation from the BIM models.
  • Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of extracted drawings.
  • Ensure adherence to project standards and drawing conventions.

BIM Standards and Best Practices:

  • Establish and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and best practices within the organization.
  • Develop and enhance BIM workflows and processes to improve project efficiency and quality.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior and intermediate BIM modelers in adopting and implementing BIM standards.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate closely with project teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and interdisciplinary workshops to resolve clashes and conflicts.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to ensure alignment and meet project goals.

Quality Control and Assurance:

  • Conduct quality control checks on BIM models and drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Review and verify compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Implement best practices for model management and version control.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years' experience and extensive experience in Developing complex Building Information Models (BIM) for large-scale projects.
  • Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, or ArchiCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of BIM standards, protocols, and best practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership abilities and the capacity to collaborate effectively with project teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with construction industry practices and processes.
