DATA ARCHITECT (AWS + ML)

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

AWS Data & ML Platform Architecture:

• Experience with developing and implementing a data security & compliance strategy.
• Experience with data governance, data quality management, and data privacy.
• Experience with data integration and data interoperability projects.
• Experience with Cloud MLOps solutions.
• Experience with AWS SageMaker & StepFunctions.

Data Modelling and Database Design:

• Lead the design and development of the AWS data and machine learning platform architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Define best practices and standards for data and ML architecture on AWS.
• Architect data models and design databases to support efficient storage and retrieval of telecom-related data.
• Optimize data structures for both transactional and analytical workloads.

Machine Learning Infrastructure:

• Design scalable and cost-effective machine learning infrastructure on AWS, encompassing model training, deployment, and monitoring.
• Implement solutions for model versioning, A/B testing, and automated retraining.

Data Migration Program:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive program for migrating existing workloads to AWS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess, plan, and execute migration strategies, minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity.

Big Data Technologies:

• Familiarity with AWS EMR & RedShift
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement big data technologies on AWS for processing and analysing large datasets.
• Design solutions for real-time data processing and analytics.

Cost Optimization:

• Implement cost-effective solutions on AWS, optimizing resource utilization and ensuring efficient use of cloud resources.
• Monitor and analyze cost patterns, providing recommendations for optimization.
• Continuously optimize architecture based on performance metrics.

Data Security, Compliance & Access Management:

• Ensure that the data architecture complies with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR)
• Design data architecture with robust security mechanisms to protect sensitive and confidential data.
• Ensure encryption of data at rest and in transit.
• Implement data encryption methods across databases and data transfer channels to protect sensitive information.
• Implement role-based access controls (RBAC) to ensure that only authorized personnel have access to specific datasets.
• Establish and enforce strict data access controls and permissions to ensure authorized usage and prevent unauthorized access.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors or masters degree in a related technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology).
• Extensive experience as a data and machine learning architect with a focus on AWS.
• Strong expertise in database design, big data technologies, and machine learning frameworks.
• Proficiency in database management systems, ETL tools, and data warehousing solutions.
• Experience with data governance, data quality management, and data privacy.
• Proven experience in leading migration programs to AWS.
• AWS certifications in relevant areas (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWSCertified Machine Learning).
