We are seeking an experienced Lead Field Process Engineer to join our onshore oil and gas project team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in process engineering, with a strong background in field engineering, designconstruction coordination, and ADNOC project experience.
This role requires a technically strong professional who can act as the interface between the design and construction teams, ensuring engineering intent is maintained throughout project execution while resolving site-related process issues efficiently.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and oversee all field process engineering activities at site to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and procedures.
- Serve as the technical focal point between the engineering design office and site construction teams.
- Review and interpret PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, and process design documents to support construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for process-related issues arising during construction and start-up phases.
- Coordinate and resolve design queries, technical deviations, and field change requests in alignment with project requirements.
- Ensure the proper implementation of ADNOC standards, specifications, and project HSE requirements in all field engineering activities.
- Liaise closely with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, piping, instrumentation, and operations) to ensure smooth project progress.
- Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including punch list review and system handover.
- Support the construction and QA/QC teams in reviewing and validating as-built documentation and red-line mark-ups.
- Prepare and submit field engineering reports, progress updates, and technical assessments as required by the project management team.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 8 years in field engineering roles for onshore projects.
- Proven experience in ADNOC projects is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of process design deliverables and their practical application during construction.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, effective field engineering decisions.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO, etc.) and ADNOC engineering practices.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Immediate availability is preferred.
