SENIOR QA ENGINEER (ISTQB)

Senior Individual Contributor (L4) | Reports to: Manual Lead / Architect

• A senior individual contributor providing cross-application QA engineering depth. You will be the technical bridge between manual testing and automation, authoring complex test designs, enforcing engineering rigour, and coaching others. No people-management responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide cross-application QA engineering depth spanning manual and automation practices
• Author complex and high-risk test designs across application boundaries
• Peer-review test cases for technical rigour, covering both manual and automated coverage
• Drive engineering practices across the team including test data management, environment readiness, and defect management
• Support senior architects on complex test design challenges
• Provide working-level coordination with the Senior Automation Developer on manual vs automation decisions
• Coach Test Engineers and Test Analysts on engineering rigour and best practices

Essential Skills Required

• 7+ years in software testing across both manual and automation disciplines
• ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst certification
• Working programming proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript
• Deep manual test design skills with strong automation literacy
• Experience with test data management patterns
• Defect management and root-cause analysis skills
• Experience with cross-application test orchestration
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Desirable Skills

• Banking or financial services domain experience
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation integration
• Experience with test environment readiness and triage processes
• Familiarity with TMMi quality frameworks
