We are seeking a Senior Process Designer with strong expertise in process design and drafting for large-scale oil & gas or petrochemical projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed process design drawings and documentation, supporting FEED and Detailed Engineering phases, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and international standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and develop Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) based on process engineer input and project standards.
- Generate and update line lists, equipment lists, and process datasheets in collaboration with process engineers.
- Assist in the development of Cause & Effect diagrams, Hydraulic Schematics, Process Safeguarding Diagrams, and other key deliverables.
- Ensure design deliverables meet client specifications, project requirements, and applicable international standards (API, ASME, ISO, etc.).
- Coordinate with other design disciplines (Piping, Instrumentation, Electrical, Civil) to ensure effective process integration.
- Maintain quality and consistency of design deliverables across all phases of the project (FEED, Detailed Design).
- Perform design checks and reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support process engineers in conducting HAZOP, SIL, and other safety studies through diagram preparation and updates.
- Participate in model reviews and assist in incorporating design changes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers and drafters.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or Degree in Chemical / Process Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in process design and drafting within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or energy sectors.
- Strong expertise in developing PFDs, P&IDs, and other process documents using AutoCAD, SmartPlant P&ID, or similar tools.
- Good understanding of process equipment (pumps, compressors, separators, heat exchangers, etc.) and process control concepts.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards (API, ASME, IEC, ISO).
- Experience working on FEED and Detailed Engineering projects.
- Exposure to ADNOC or other major Middle Eastern clients is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
