Electrical BIM Modeler will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed BIM models for electrical utility networks within infrastructure projects. This includes power distribution, street lighting, telecom ducts, ITS (intelligent traffic systems), and related underground/overground utility services. The role requires coordination with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate, clash-free, and construction-ready models that comply with BIM standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and manage 3D BIM/Revit/Civil 3D/AutoCAD models for electrical utility systems (MV/LV networks, street lighting, telecom/ITS conduits, substations, and feeder pillars)
- Produce accurate shop drawings, construction layouts, and as-built drawings from BIM models.
- Coordinate with civil, structural, and MEP modelers to ensure complete integration of utilities and avoid clashes.
- Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks (or similar software)
- Generate cable schedules, quantity take-offs, and material reports directly from the model.
- Ensure adherence to the BIM execution plan, ISO 19650 standards, and local utility authority regulations.
- Incorporate design changes, markups, and revisions from engineers into the BIM model.
- Provide construction support by producing clear outputs for site installation teams.
- Maintain model version control, documentation, and quality checks.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related.
- 3-7 years of experience in BIM modeling for electrical utilities on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D. AutoCAD, Navisworks
- Familiarity with power distribution standards, telecom ducting, ITS requirements, and street lighting layouts.
- Understanding of GCC/Saudi utility authority standards (SEC, STC, MOT, Aramco, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams, layouts, and utility drawings.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Previous experience with Saudi Arabian or Middle East infrastructure projects.
- Certification in BIM/Revit or Autodesk tools
