We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Piping Designer to support the development of 2D and 3D piping designs for oil & gas and industrial projects. The role involves preparing piping layouts, isometrics, and other key deliverables in accordance with project specifications, engineering standards, and client requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and develop: Piping general arrangement (GA) drawings, Piping isometrics, Equipment layout drawings, Nozzle orientation and pipe support drawings, Tie-in and field modification drawings
  • Utilize 3D modeling tools (e.g., SP3D, PDMS, E3D) and 2D drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation) for piping design work.
  • Generate piping material take-offs (MTOs) from models and drawings.
  • Apply knowledge of piping codes (e.g., ASME B31.3), standard practices, and project specifications.
  • Ensure proper pipe routing for constructability, operability, accessibility, and safety.
  • Perform clash checking and resolve interface issues using the 3D model environment.
  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil/structural, electrical, and instrumentation teams for layout development.
  • Incorporate client comments and participate in design reviews (model reviews, HAZOPs, etc.).
  • Support field visits for site data collection, tie-in point validation, and as-built documentation.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience as a Piping Designer, preferably in oil & gas or petrochemical sectors.
  • Strong hands-on experience in SP3D, PDMS, E3D, or AutoCAD Plant 3D.
  • Good understanding of piping components, materials, and fabrication/construction practices.
  • Familiarity with piping codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, etc.).
  • Experience with ADNOC, Aramco, or other major client standards is an advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, piping specifications, and vendor drawings.
