RELIABILITY MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
About the job RELIABILITY MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
Purpose of the Job:
- Develop and enhance the reliability and asset performance of critical Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) assets
- Minimize unplanned downtime, improve equipment availability, and optimize lifecycle performance
- Support safe, compliant, and cost-effective plant operations through data-driven reliability engineering
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve reliability strategies for critical STP assets
- Monitor and analyze reliability KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, availability, failure trends)
- Conduct FMEA, RCM studies, and lead RCA for major and recurring failures
- Identify chronic equipment issues (bad actors) and implement improvement plans
- Analyze CMMS/EAM data to identify trends and support decision-making
- Develop dashboards and reports to communicate reliability performance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support predictive maintenance techniques
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to optimize maintenance plans and job frequencies
- Support commissioning, modifications, and upgrades with embedded reliability considerations
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Key Qualifications:
- BSc in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related discipline)
- Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles and methodologies (FMEA, RCM, RCA)
- Experience working with CMMS/EAM systems and reliability KPIs
- Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and reporting skills
- Experience in STPs, water treatment plants, utilities, or continuous-process environments
- Knowledge of environmental and regulatory compliance in wastewater operations
- Exposure to digital tools, dashboards, and maintenance analytics
- Professional certifications (CMRP, CAMA, or equivalent) are an advantage
