We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Process Safety Engineer to oversee and lead all process safety engineering activities on a major gas processing facility project. The successful candidate will ensure that safety is integrated into design and operations from concept through to commissioning.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead process safety engineering activities including QRA, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL/SIS studies, and risk assessments
  • Develop and review safety cases, consequence modeling, and fire & explosion studies
  • Ensure all process safety deliverables comply with applicable standards and client requirements
  • Coordinate with process, instrumentation, and operations teams on safety system design
  • Manage and facilitate HAZOP and HAZID workshops with multidisciplinary teams
  • Review and approve safety-related documentation, cause and effect charts, and ESD philosophies
  • Provide expert guidance on loss prevention and inherently safer design principles
  • Liaise with client and regulatory bodies on process safety matters

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Process Engineering
  • Minimum 25 years of experience in process safety engineering; specialist-level candidates may also be considered
  • Proven track record on large-scale gas processing or petrochemical projects
  • Expertise in QRA, HAZOP facilitation, consequence modeling, and SIL assessment
  • Proficiency with safety analysis tools such as PHAST, SAFETI, or equivalent
  • Experience with ADNOC gas processing projects is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of international standards including IEC 61511, API, and NFPA
  • Arabic-speaking candidates are preferred
