Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design review, coordination, and execution of all mechanical systems within an infrastructure project executed under a Design and Build (D&B) contract. The role involves close collaboration with design consultants, construction teams, and subcontractors to ensure design compliance, constructability, and timely delivery of mechanical works within quality and budget parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical design and engineering for infrastructure works, with a focus on pumping stations and related systems
  • Prepare and review mechanical designs, layouts, specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQs)
  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, and structural teams to ensure integration and consistency across all design elements
  • Support construction teams with technical guidance, resolving site-related engineering issues in a timely manner
  • Oversee contractor-related activities including installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements throughout all project phases
  • Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and Navisworks for design modeling and interdisciplinary coordination
  • Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and project progress discussions
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure quality and adherence to engineering specifications

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years of mechanical engineering experience, with a strong focus on pumping stations and infrastructure works
  • Proven experience working as a contractor on infrastructure projects
  • Proficient in engineering design software: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and Navisworks
  • In-depth understanding of mechanical systems including piping, pumps, and HVAC systems
  • Familiarity with relevant international standards (e.g., ASHRAE, API, ISO) and local regulations
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Professional Engineering license or equivalent certification is an advantage
