Position Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commissioning Technician / Engineer to support the planning, execution, and documentation of commissioning and building optimization activities for complex building systems and equipment. This role ensures all systems are installed, tested, and operated according to the project specifications, performance requirements, and client expectations.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document functional testing and commissioning procedures for mechanical, electrical, and/or control systems.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and submittals to develop commissioning plans and checklists.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of commissioning milestones.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide technical recommendations during pre-functional and functional testing.
  • Prepare commissioning reports and maintain accurate documentation of test results and deficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and client requirements.
  • Participate in startup activities, system turnover, and closeout documentation.
  • Conduct or assist with site inspections and punch-list resolution.

Position Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in commissioning, construction, or building systems operations
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and/or control systems
  • Familiarity with commissioning software tools (e.g., CxAlloy, Bluebeam)
  • Hands on approach to problem solving
  • HVACR degree or engineering degree (preferred)
  • Commissioning certification (e.g., CxA, BCxP, NEBB, AABC) (preferred)
