A Senior Mechanical Engineer requires a player-coach mindset. Someone who is comfortable driving strategic initiatives, fostering team growth, and diving into day-to-day execution. In addition to executing design a portion of time will be focused on supporting design team, mentoring team members, and working closely with business leadership.

Position Description:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in driving the growth of the E3M Solutions Engineering team, contributing to design-build, design-assist, and plan & spec projects across a variety of industries.

Accountabilities:

  • Deliver high-quality designs that meet codes and client needs
  • Coordinate system integration with other disciplines
  • Designing sustainable solutions while maintaining fiscal responsibility and meeting client expectations
  • Communicate to clients and stakeholders clearly, concisely and timely
  • Own your passion for continuous development and project accountability

Leading Responsibilities:

  • Lead conceptual development meetings with E3M team, clients, or contractors
  • Provide direction and oversight for the design team
  • Assist in the development of proposals for clients needs and requirements
  • Participate in mentoring of team for professional and technical development
  • Lead communication efforts on projects that the team lead is directly responsible for
  • Serve as primary source of SD efforts on larger and conceptual projects
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and involvement in fostering a positive workplace culture


Technical Responsibilities:

  • Provide a lead role in projects, including being the point of contact for the client, on occasions.
  • Prepares system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics for mechanical systems including, but not limited to, the following:
    • HVAC & Plumbing Systems
    • DDC Controls Systems
    • Compressed Air Systems
    • Process Related Systems
    • Alternative Energy Systems
  • Review shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications
  • Occasionally visits job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress
  • Complete and provide peer review technical documents, drawings, or reports
  • Assist in maintaining of standards & tools for engineering
  • Participate in conceptual development meetings with E3M team, clients, or contractors
  • Work in R&D efforts on new technologies and opportunities
  • Perform other tasks and items necessary in a small business


Position Requirements:

  • Professional Engineering License (PE)
  • 7+ Years Design Experience
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical/plumbing and energy codes and standards.
  • AutoCAD & Revit Proficiency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, etc) & Bluebeam Revu
  • Trane Trace or other Energy Modeling Proficiency
