Summary:

Dynamic and dedicated Power Generator Technician sought for a full-time position located in the DFW area. This role entails maintaining operational readiness, diagnosing faults, and executing intricate mechanical/electrical repairs on equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of power generation systems and their components, including mechanical operations, associated hazards, and proper equipment usage for effective troubleshooting and precise diagnosis of malfunctions.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, load-bank testing, start-ups on generators, and execute preventative maintenance and repairs on generator systems.
  • Proficiently interpret schematics and operational manuals to apply practical solutions in repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Prepare accurate repair quotes and ensure timely completion and submission of work orders.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, standards, and procedures relevant to the job, promptly reporting incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures established by our client, and assist with any task as directed by the immediate supervisor.
  • Actively participate in all required training and safety meetings while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates must demonstrate:

  • Strong mechanical diagnosis and repair skills.
  • Proven experience in repairing equipment.
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities with the capacity to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and comprehending complex directions in manuals and effectively relaying information in reports.
  • Competency in compressor and engine maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting skills for general electronic and mechanical control problems.
  • Mechanical aptitude and possession of a full set of hand tools as defined by company standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to attend required training classes and seminars.
  • General computer proficiency, capable of utilizing computers as diagnostic tools.


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Formal vocational training preferred.
  • Ten to Fifteen years of experience in the field required.
  • Experience with Diesel and Natural Gas engine-driven generators preferred.


Language Skills:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.


Physical Demands:

Candidates must be able to:

  • Lift heavy objects as required.
  • Spend extended periods standing.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
