Reports to: Food & Beverage Supervisor / Hospitality Manager / Dining Hall Lead
Position Overview:
The Server 1 is responsible for delivering high-quality table service, ensuring guest satisfaction through prompt, courteous, and professional food and beverage delivery in accordance with client standards. This role is critical in maintaining an organized, welcoming, and efficient dining experience across formal or informal settings.

Welcome and seat guests, present menus, and explain daily specials or service options.

Take accurate orders for food and beverages and relay them efficiently to the kitchen or bar.

Serve meals and drinks in a timely manner, ensuring presentation and temperature meet client standards.

Refill beverages, clear used dishes between courses, and attend promptly to guest needs.

Maintain clean, fully set tables and dining spaces before, during, and after service.

Ensure adherence to health, hygiene, and safety regulations including allergen awareness.

Handle special requests and dietary requirements professionally and discretely.

Communicate clearly with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operation.

Support buffet, plated, or a la carte service formats depending on the venue.

Maintain accurate billing, receipts, or consumption logs as directed.

Report any guest feedback, complaints, or unusual incidents to supervisors.

Assist in cleaning, restocking, and preparing the service area during non-peak hours.

Participate in staff meetings, safety drills, and continuous service improvement programs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certifications:

KCSE certificate minimum.
-
Valid Food Handlers Certificate.

Hospitality, barista, or table service training preferred.
Experience:

12 years of experience in food service, restaurants, hotels, or catered facilities.

Experience with banquet or high-volume service is an added advantage.
Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent memory and multitasking ability under pressure.

Fluent in English; Kiswahili proficiency preferred.

Attentive to detail, time-sensitive, and customer-focused.

Familiarity with POS systems or handheld ordering devices is beneficial.
Other Requirements:

Neat, presentable, and physically able to stand, walk, lift trays, and serve for extended periods.

Willingness to work weekends, night shifts, or in remote site environments as required.
