Use complicated shop mathematics to calculate irregular curves, angles, and pitch. Apply principles of radial-line development combined with parallel-line development to devise and calculate patterns. Manufacture items and systems with dovetailed seams, set-in-bottom seams, burred-bottom seams, or wire or lock seams. Set up, adjust, and operate powered and non-powered tools and forming equipment to form sheet metal into cylindrical, tapered, conical, and irregular shapes. Select, cut, bend, and install hardware on all types of assemblies as determined by pattern, layout, and specification. Fabricate templates for sheet metal components. Assemble and fabricates components of stainless steel, black iron, galvanized iron, Sterne plate, copper sheet, magnesium, honeycomb material, and alloys and installs by use of bolts, screws, and lock-seams. Apply riveting, soldering, and spot-welding techniques for appearance, durability, and structural soundness. Work with a variety of assembly joints, hems, and edges.
Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities:
Shall develop patterns, cut, form, join, assemble, and install items and systems which have combined straight and curved edges or irregular curves, angles, and planes throughout the installation.
Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas.
Responsible for following a comprehensive, flexible, and properly documented training program.
Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools).
Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of time sheet.
Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional, and mission requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/ Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Journeyman card for respective trade provided through a recognized apprentice program or State certification, and/or current or expired state Contractors license for the respective trade and/or evidence of passing the International Code Council (ICC) national journeyman or master certification exam (i.e., electrician, HVAC mechanic, plumber, etc.) and/or nationally recognized certification program and/or documented journeyman level or higher experience in the respective trade.
Other Requirements:
Must pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing and background checks.
