Position Overview:
The Physical Therapist 1 is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing rehabilitation programs for workers recovering from injuries, surgery, repetitive strain, or musculoskeletal disorders. The role supports rapid and safe return-to-work outcomes, improves mobility, and reduces injury-related downtime on construction sites and camps. The Physical Therapist works closely with site nurses, occupational health leads, and safety officers to maintain the physical well-being of Earthmount Global personnel.

Assess injured or recovering staff to develop personalized physical therapy treatment plans.

Perform hands-on therapy, including joint mobilization, soft tissue work, and therapeutic exercises.

Guide patients through physical routines that improve strength, range of motion, and functional movement.

Utilize physical therapy equipment such as resistance bands, balance boards, ultrasound, TENS, and cryotherapy tools.

Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans based on recovery trends and workload reintegration goals.

Educate workers on posture, lifting techniques, ergonomics, and injury prevention methods.

Maintain detailed patient records and treatment reports in alignment with occupational health documentation standards.

Coordinate with site supervisors to plan modified duties for recovering workers.

Participate in pre-employment or post-injury physical fitness assessments.

Support wellness campaigns, stretching programs, or injury risk audits on-site.

Ensure compliance with rehabilitation protocols and national health regulations.

Refer patients for specialized care when progress is limited or outside scope.

Promote a culture of proactive physical health, resilience, and body mechanics awareness.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certifications:

Bachelors Degree in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.

Registered and licensed to practice by the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya or relevant national authority.

Certification in Sports Rehab, Manual Therapy, or Occupational Health is an added advantage.

First Aid and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
Experience:

2+ years experience in outpatient, orthopedic, or occupational physical therapy.

Prior work with construction, sports medicine, or industrial rehab preferred.

Familiarity with treating repetitive strain injuries, sprains, fractures, and post-op cases.
Skills:

Strong clinical reasoning and hands-on rehabilitation skills.

Able to design functional rehab programs suited to labor-intensive work environments.

Good communication, motivational coaching, and patient education abilities.

Proficient in digital health records and therapy documentation.

Collaborative mindset with a safety-first approach to worker health.
Other Requirements:

Willing to travel to remote work sites or stay in mobile clinics as needed.

Physically fit, able to demonstrate exercises and support patients.

Fluent in English and Kiswahili; local language competency is a plus.

Capable of handling high caseloads and working in fast-paced environments.
