Reports to: Operations Manager
Position Overview:
The Electrical Technician 1 works under the supervision of the Operations Manager, responsible for electrical installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of site electrical systems and equipment across water treatment and distribution facilities.

Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of low and medium voltage electrical systems.

Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment using standard testing tools.

Maintain and calibrate control panels, motor control centers, and PLCs.

Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on pumps, motors, generators, and lighting systems.

Monitor the performance of electrical systems and recommend efficiency improvements.

Maintain records and logs of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.

Interpret electrical drawings, diagrams, and schematics.

Respond to electrical emergencies and breakdowns with appropriate corrective actions.

Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with local and international electrical codes.

Support overall operational effectiveness through proactive maintenance.

Serve as on-site electrical support to the broader operations team, ensuring plant uptime and performance.

Participate in safety, quality, and compliance activities across project sites.

Perform other related duties as assigned, based on operational needs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certifications:

High School diploma required; technical diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering preferred.

Valid drivers license with a clean traffic abstract.

Certification as a Licensed Electrician (or equivalent national certification) preferred.
Experience:

2+ years of relevant work experience in industrial or utility electrical systems.

Experience in water treatment or mechanical systems preferred.
Skills:

Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and safety codes.

Proficient with electrical testing tools and diagnostic equipment.

Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Good problem-solving, time management, and teamwork abilities.
Other Requirements:

Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including extreme temperatures.

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, perform physical tasks including climbing, crouching, and standing for extended periods.

Subject to noise, moving parts, electrical exposure, and working at heights.
