Design Manager
About the job Design Manager
- Act as our Design representative liaising with Clients, Contractors and Engineering Consultants.
- Carry out and/or Manage Preliminary Design Tender stage, as well as Detail Engineering stage for our Special Civil Works projects involving Construction, Seismic isolation, Rehabilitation and upgrade of Bridges, Buildings, Silos, Wharves, Industrial plants etc.
- Carry out and/or Manage our technical studies particularly in temporary steel structures, structural analysis (including seismic), post-tensioning and structural retrofitting (strengthening and durability).
- Liaise with our Clients to define all the needed design input data and technical requirements.
- Work in conjunction with FIMI Sales team to understand the commercial context and prepare tenders Technical solutions with fit for purpose design and quantity estimates.
- Manage junior design/technical engineer and drafting team, providing guidance, support and clarity to produce deliverables on time and to agreed standard.
- Support and develop competences for our junior technical engineers.
- Manage and check the out-sourced designs by liaising with our internal partners (abroad) or Engineering Consultant partners (in the Philippines)
- Manage and follow-up the submission and approval of the produced design documents.
- Liaise with the Operational Team when they have specific requests to solve technical issues.
- Work as a proactive member of the team, sharing experience and best practice.
- Keep up to date on innovative methods and expertise.
