The Senior Manager for Finance Controllership ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. The role oversees accounting operations, internal controls, and compliance with financial standards and tax laws. This position drives efficiency, supports strategic goals, and leads the team in managing financial risks and resources effectively.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Management

  • Develops and executes long-term plans for accounting, risk, and records functions.
  • Builds strong internal and external partnerships.
  • Drives innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Updates leadership on financial reporting and tax best practices.

2. Operational Excellence

  • Aligns finance functions with enterprise goals.
  • Oversees Accounting, Risk & Compliance, and Records teams.
  • Implements effective internal controls.
  • Ensures efficient transaction cycles and financial closing.
  • Maintains accurate accounting records and reporting systems.
  • Monitors performance metrics and supports unit targets.
  • Coordinates annual audits and tax reporting.
  • Keeps current with regulations and leads compliance efforts.
  • Advises leadership on emerging financial risks.
  • Develops annual budgets and tracks performance vs targets.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing and skills within the department.

3. Records & Reporting

  • Ensures availability and accuracy of operational and management records at all times.

4. Performance Management

  • Leads the department with clear goals and KPIs.
  • Conducts regular reviews and annual evaluations.
  • Coaches, recognizes achievements, and addresses performance gaps.
  • Plans for succession and career development.
  • Promotes motivation, engagement, and values-driven culture.
  • Ensures optimal team structure and high retention.
