We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the accounting books. This role is open to graduates of Accountancy (CPA certification is a plus), Accounting Technology or other business courses with relevant experience in accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the books and Ensure Financial Accuracy – Monitor and Analyze Financial Transactions and ensure that all are recorded properly in the accounting books.
  • Prepare Journal Entries – Post recurring, adjusting, and correcting journal entries, including accruals in compliance with accounting principles.
  • Reconcile Accounts – Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations for key general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in Month-End and Year-End Close – Ensure all necessary adjustments are posted for financial reporting. Help prepare income statements, balance sheets, and other reports for management.
  • Manage Fixed Assets – Record acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation schedules accurately.
  • Ensure Compliance – Maintain adherence to GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Support Internal and External Audits – Provide documentation and explanations for financial reports as required.
  • Work with Other Departments – Collaborate with AP, AR, tax, and finance teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth operations.
  • Identify Process Improvements – Suggest and implement best practices for efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
  • Perform other General Ledger-related accounting tasks as needed.
    Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (CPA is a plus) or Accounting Technology or other accounting related courses with relevant experience in accounting.
  • Experience: Proven experience in maintaining the accounting books, analyzing the Income Statement, Balance Sheet and other Financial Reports. A background in general accounting from recording to reporting (minimum of 3 years in a similar role). Experience in a supervisory role is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or NetSuite. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data management, analysis, and reporting (e.g., P&L, Balance Sheet Reporting, Lapsing schedules & etc.).
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, organizational and communication abilities.
