About the job Purchasing Manager
Targets of the position:
1. Ensure 100% availability of inventory in the warehouse.
2. Ensure good quality of all items according to the company´s agreements with suppliers.
3. Work with all departments together on all issues so that the company achieves better results and success.
Responsibilities:
1. Decide on all orders to suppliers.
2. Check the quality of incoming deliveries.
3. Decide on returns to suppliers.
4. Use customer complaints about product quality for discussion and possible action.
5. Ensure a maximum speed of inventory turns / a minimum of inventory days.
6. Decide on larger order quantities in case of purchasing cost increases or expected shortages.
7. Check all invoices from suppliers and forwards them to accounting for payment.
8. In case of wrong invoices, ensure that credit notes from suppliers are being issued.
9. Decide on sales of excessive inventories to neighboring regions.
10. Report to the Regional Manager any price issues and other issues with terms & conditions which cannot be resolved by him-/herself as well as other issues related to the product portfolio.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
2. 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management, preferably in retail or trading companies.
3. Proven ability to manage supplier relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure product quality.
4. Experience in cost optimization, and handling supplier disputes.
5. Excellent negotiation and communication skills for dealing with suppliers and internal teams.
6. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining cost efficiency.
7. Strong organizational skills to manage orders, returns, and supplier invoices.
8. High integrity and accountability in financial and operational decisions.
