Job Purpose
At the core of a Hotel Revenue and Reservation Managers role is setting the right prices for hotel rooms and other services, ensuring the reservation process and strategy is followed properly. This involves employing yield management techniques, which essentially means adjusting prices based on factors like demand, seasonality, special events, and competitor rates.
They analyze historical data, current trends, and future projections to guide their pricing strategies and revenue optimization efforts.
Managing room inventory is a key responsibility of a revenue and reservation manager. They
carefully allocate room availability across different distribution channels, such as online travel
agencies (OTAs), direct bookings, and travel partners. By maintaining a balanced distribution
strategy, they can minimize overbooking or underselling, maximizing the hotels revenue
potential.

Job Responsibilities

1. Implement revenue management strategies with GM, procedures, and best practices to maximize profitability.
2. Lead the revenue management and distribution strategy for the hotel, managing daily yield
operations effectively.
3. Supervise the daily operations of the Reservations team to ensure optimal performance.
4. Identify and capitalize on new revenue generation opportunities.
5. Enhance and grow partnerships with distribution channels.
6. Conduct daily pick-up analyses, adjust strategies together with GM as needed, and prepare
reports.
7. Perform competitive benchmarking and monitor market trends to inform decision-making.
8. Develop and maintain a rolling demand calendar to anticipate business trends.
9. Deliver weekly dynamic forecasts, projecting expected outcomes with actionable insights.
10. Oversee the strategy for third-party distribution channels to ensure maximum revenue.
11. Analyze monthly hotel performance and provide summary reports with actionable
recommendations to improve long-term strategies.
12. Ensure all related systems are correctly configured, fully functional, and optimized.
13. Maintain and update the hotels website, third party platforms for a seamless guest experience.
14. Regularly review and ensure the quality and accuracy of data inputs (e.g., segmentation, denials tracking).
15. Approve special rates and group quotations while ensuring profitability.
16. Assess the performance of distribution partners and evaluate contracted rates (e.g., OTA, FIT, tour operators, corporate clients, groups).
17. Encourage and inspire department heads to cultivate a strong revenue management culture within the hotel.


Qualifications

- College degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Hospitality
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

- Experience as a Hotel Revenue Management, Sales or Reservation Management position, or OTA, CMS companies background.
- Bachelor or Masters degree in business administration, marketing, hospitality or economic studies
