The Accounting Manager oversees the daily operations of the Accounting Department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, and full compliance with taxation and regulatory requirements. This role leads and mentors the accounting team, drives process improvements, and supports management in strategic financial planning. Experience with major ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate closing of books, GL reconciliation, and financial analysis.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure integrity of financial data across all accounting processes.
  • Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

Taxation & Compliance

  • Lead and manage tax compliance, including but not limited to VAT, withholding tax, income tax, and other regulatory filings.
  • Ensure full compliance with BIR, SEC, LGU, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinate annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors.
  • Develop and implement compliance policies and ensure adherence across the organization.

Team Leadership & Supervisory Functions

  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate the performance of the accounting team.
  • Assign tasks, monitor workloads, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Conduct training and support professional development of team members.
  • Implement best practices and continuous process improvements.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Oversee ERP system utilization (SAP / Oracle) to ensure accuracy of financial data and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead accounting process enhancements, automation, and policy updates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, Procurement, HR) to streamline financial workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong background in taxation, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting. Experience working in multi-national companies is a plus
  • Hands-on experience using SAP or Oracle ERP systems is required.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
