Tax Manager

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Tax Manager to lead the overall accounting and taxation functions for our shipping agency, domestic carrier entities, and carrier representations.

This role will work closely with local finance teams, Regional Office, and Head Office to ensure strong financial governance, tax compliance, risk management, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader with deep tax expertise, solid financial reporting experience, and background in the shipping or logistics industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee overall accounting and taxation functions across multiple entities
• Lead monthly and year-end financial closing processes
• Ensure accuracy and compliance of financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS
• Conduct financial analysis, variance reporting, and provide management insights
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning activities
• Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships, and foreign currency matters
• Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and regulatory compliance
• Manage tax audits, assessments, and liaise with external consultants and authorities
• Provide tax advisory support and implement tax risk management initiatives
• Strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance framework
• Lead internal and external audit engagements
• Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and best practice implementation
• Monitor operational costs and identify revenue enhancement opportunities
• Support strategic initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement programs
• Develop and mentor finance team members

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Taxation; MBA is an advantage.
• CPA qualification is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Finance/Accounting.
• At least 3 years of experience in a managerial role.
• Experience in the shipping or logistics industry is preferred.
• Background in audit or consultancy is an advantage.
