Oxford Tutors is hiring a full-time 9-Month Teaching & Mentorship Residency based in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
9-Month Teaching & Mentorship Residency (In-Person Puerto Rico)
Start Date: August 2025
End Date: May 2026
Compensation: Competitive, with relocation assistance available
Join a mission-driven educational team for a 9-month residency in Puerto Rico that blends individualized teaching with youth mentorship and program leadership. We're looking for an educator who can adapt on the fly while designing clear, consistent routines that help students stay organized and motivated. The fellow will provide academic instruction and executive-function support in a school-adjacent setting and will lead enrichment initiatives such as a Financial Literacy Club and the Stock Market Game all while encouraging students to think critically through Socratic dialogue and reflective questioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver in-person academic support across high school level humanities and STEM subjects
- Embed executive-function strategies and social-emotional learning in day-to-day instruction
Serve as a steady mentor, setting goals and holding students accountable
- Lead extracurricular programming, including a Financial Literacy Club and the Stock Market Game
- Use inquiry-based and Socratic dialogue to foster critical thinking and meaningful student engagement
- Coordinate closely with caregivers and a wider team of educators to keep students on track
- Cultivate curiosity, independence, and an entrepreneurial mindset in the young people you serve
Ideal Candidate
Holds a bachelors degree or equivalent experience in education, finance,
entrepreneurship, humanities, social sciences, or a related fieldDemonstrated success teaching or mentoring adolescents
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
Calm, emotionally intelligent, and highly adaptable
Comfortable creating curricula and guiding youth programs
- Genuine interest in business, finance, entrepreneurship, and mental-health-informed practices
Proficient in Spanish
- Authorized to work in the U.S. and able to relocate to Puerto Rico for the residency period
