Lead Collaborative: We incubate Puerto Ricos next generation of educational
champions with one central aim: provide students with a quality education and prepare them for a lifetime of learning and opportunity. We are a growing organization with four full-time employees and various contractors to support our work.

This role involves overseeing daily operations, implementing development and communications strategies, and championing the organization's mission to enhance community and educational leadership capacities, providing the necessary tools for improved student outcomes. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Program Director to develop and implement strategic and action plans that align with the organization's mission and objectives.
  •  Identify and implement operational efficiencies to streamline internal processes. 
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance workflow and maximize organizational effectiveness.
  • Keep up-to-date employee records and files compliant with Puerto Ricos labor laws. 
  • Administer payroll.
  • Implement internal policies as dictated by the employee manual
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and the accounting resource to monitor and manage organizational budgets.
  • Ensure adequate resource allocation, account reconciliation, and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Oversee and coordinate external accountants.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Implement recommendations from audit reports to improve financial processes continuously.
  • Monitor funding opportunities aligned with Leads mission and goals.
  • Ensure compliance with grant deadlines by submitting required progress
  • reports, impact numbers, and expense documentation.
  • Support the Executive Director and the Program Director in preparing funding proposals.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of services.
  • Monitor vendor performance and compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Coordinate payments for suppliers and maintain updated records.
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, coaching, and other programmatic events aimed at public school directors.
  • Oversee event planning, including venue coordination, goals, participant
  • communication, and post-event evaluation.
  • Manage budget and event-related expenses.
  • Support the Executive Director in managing relationships with individual
  • donors, foundations, corporations, and other potential funding sources.
  • Utilize technology to streamline and personalize donor cultivation efforts.
  • Implement a donor management system that tracks interactions, preferences, and giving history to facilitate more targeted and efficient communication.
  • Implement and manage fundraising campaigns, as dictated by the
  • organizations resource development strategy, and analyze campaign
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date donor database, tracking contributions, interactions, and communication history.
  • Generate reports and analytics to assess fundraising performance and inform future strategies.
  • Collaborate with the communications consultant to: Create a calendar of shareable content that encourages community interaction.
  • Implement a regular newsletter that informs supporters about the organization's activities, achievements, and upcoming events.
  • Develop and share compelling stories that highlight the impact of the
  • nonprofit's work.
  • Ensure the organization's website is user-friendly, visually appealing, and
  • contains up-to-date information. Optimize search engines (SEO) to improve online visibility.
  • Cultivate relationships with local media outlets.
  • Prepare regular reports for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors, highlighting key performance indicators and outcomes.
  • Prepare annual calendars and support the Executive Director in the preparation of meetings by drafting agendas, minutes, and other required documents.


  • Bachelor's or Master's in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in nonprofit management.
  • Experience with fundraising or business development activities.
  • Superior organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Written and verbal proficiency in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and dynamic environment.
